The Hunchback of Notre-Dame - Victor Hugo

The Hunchback of Notre-Dame is a classic novel by Victor Hugo that blends history, romance, and tragedy. Set in 15th-century Paris, the novel revolves around Quasimodo, the bell ringer of Notre-Dame Cathedral; Esmeralda, a kind-hearted and beautiful Romani girl; and Claude Frollo, a corrupt archdeacon obsessed with Esmeralda. Their intertwined fates lead to a heartbreaking tale of love, obsession, and societal injustice.

Honestly, The Hunchback of Notre-Dame is a challenging book, but it is absolutely worth the effort. The detailed descriptions and historical context can make it a slow read at times, but they add so much depth to the story. Despite its difficulty, finishing this novel was incredibly satisfying, and I’m glad I stuck with it. It’s a powerful and unforgettable book that rewards patient readers with a rich and meaningful experience.
